Save states not working on NES -SOLVED
-
Hey guys,
I am running retropie off an 8 gb sd card, with the games being located on an external terabyte harddrive. I set it so that the save files will be located on the external hard drive in the game directories.
All of my games, psx and snes and gba and 32x all create save states fine and load everything perfectly. strangely, when I play NES and try save stating using select and r1 on my ps3 controller the message 0% saving state appears and does not dissapear. When I try loading it it doesnt exist. I am moving a psx game from my pc at the same time using scp, but it being a different directory I dont know why it would be affected. Any suggestions or fix for the problem? save states are a must have for alot of the NES games -
@jordin986 give your roms folder better permissions and it should work.

I never had this issue in the past and my whole harddrive has all permissions open to my pi. It just started today

Fixed it. Apparently 4 GB and 15000 nes games is a little overwhelming. so i split my games into two folders and now there can be save states.
Thanks for the help dude -
@jordin986 that is a lot of nes. Luckily i found a set that is all us when can be but other regions if no us version. Now for c64 i have 23,000 games but there are multiple disc games in there so not really that many.

I downloaded a couple fullsets of roms, i have for almost every console on the pi with the exception of ps1, theres so many games because its a bunch of unofficial, hacks, translations, and every release of almost every nes game released officially. so some games have like 6 or 7 versions. Its nice for variety and get around censorship in some situations. -

I've been playing the uncensored version of 'Super Castlevania IV' and it's a trip to see all the blood and religious iconography restored.
