new to retropie, have the raspberry pi 3, loaded retropie image from retropie website, ROMs through usb. HDMI to a 47" LG TV. using USB NES knock-off controllers

when I am playing a game when there is a lot of action on the screen the image flickers.

for example, in bubble bobble, if I blow too many bubbles the dragons and bubbles flicker, background is fine.

is this a problem with settings? output?

thanks in advance for your help.

Original limitations of the NES. You can remove some of the sprite limitations in the RGUI core settings for lr-fceumm I think (or at least on one of the NES emulators)
