ExperimentalPi response was sitting in my inbox this morning. Known issue. Required software/firmware update: https://www.experimentalpi.com/PiBoy-DMG-Firmware-and-Script-Updates_b_42.html

The firmware definitely got it, but there's some new stuff in the software update as well (like the ability to specify the power LED brightness (which is much appreciated). Firmware updater also states that the software update is needed.

On a side note, I tried to update via VirtualBox first which I thought ended up bricking my son's PiBoy. Green/Red/None eternal power LED cycle. Threw the updater to my cough work windows box cough and the updater wouldn't recognize the PiBoy. The solution was to remove the battery so the only power it had was via the usb cable to the windows box. Was able to update then and the PiBoy is good to go there (just about had a heart attack).

I've already tried to downclock the device, that didn't help a lot though, yes I have overvoltage set to 6, however I tried to disable it for testing purposes, sadly it didn't help.
I actually only used gles2rice since my games then run at 1080p, all of the other options run at a realy low res, and when I look into the menu where you can change the video output, it's set to 1080p.

So I think my new question would be then how to set the "real" resolution for one of the better emulators to 1080p.

@Lumbeechief081 I don't have such contraption to test, sorry, but take a look here and here for an explanation on what those numbers are and how they can be generated.

Instead of changing these settings in raspi-config. Have you tried adding these settings in config.txt instead?

Video options in config.txt

For example
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080
hdmi_ignore_cec=1
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=4

Yesterday I tried the original RPI power supply, but same as before. After about 30-60 mins everything starts to flicker. I don't get any errors and if I reboot the system everything works fine for the next 30-60 mins.

@andymarham did you ever solve this? I have exactly the same issue...

@Jakob-Holz glad to see it is working for you. Unfortunately so many guides tell you to add lines to the bottom of the config but fail to mention it is already on the page somewhere else and may or may not be # hashtagged out.

This almost has to be isolated to specialty screens. In most cases an intermittent image only helps to prevent burn-in. Granted, it's a bug and some sort of fix would be ideal, but I have to wonder if this issue would produce any screen damage to conventional displays.
