RetroPie on old Bang & Olufsen TV

Hello,

I am trying to get RetroPie to work optimally on my old Bang & Olufsen TV from 1983, running on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
I bought a A/V and RCA Cable from Adafruit connected to a SCART adaptor and inserted into the back of the TV. The composite signal looks horrible and I tinkered with the config.txt file - but it still doesn't look good.

I did some more research in order to get a pixel perfect result on the screen.

Will this work?

HDMI to VGA active adaptor -> VGA to RGB downscaler -> SCART adaptor.

Does your tv accept RGB via scart ? Would help with some details / specs of the screen.
