Trouble getting SD from pi3 to run emulation station on pi zero!
-
Hello all,
I've been trying to get a pi zero running with emulation station, for my friend, and as the pi zero doesn't have internet access, I've been using my pi3 to create the disk image - I've spent ages selecting the right roms and now it's finally done, when I put the SD card in the pi zero and boot it up, it tries to run emulation station but instead goes straight to the command prompt.
As soon as I put the SD card back in the pi3, it boots up perfectly. Is there something I can do to fix this? Can this be fixed using my pi3? As I can't connect to the internet with the pi zero.
I'm running the newest version of Retropie, (3.7??) based on a disk image from the Retropie website.
I've got a USB snes controller & mini bluetooth keyboard/mouse for data input. Thanks

If you want to set it up for a RPI Zero on a RPI3 you need to run retropie-setup manually to force the platform or else it will install binaries for the rpi2/3 which will crash on the zero.
sudo __platform=rpi1 ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
then do a basic install or update all packages.

Thanks for the reply Buzz,
You'll have to forgive me, as I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to coding - That line of code; do I need to type that from the command prompt with the SD card in the pi3?
Thanks

After a bit of playing around I managed to get the Pi Zero working - By updating all the packages and emulation station, it all boots up fine now. Problem solved.
Thanks
