      Like it!

I've been looking for a nice combo HDMI/micro USB cable...like one where both wiresets are inside the same wire casing (or at least bonded next to each other for the length of the cable. That's been holding me back on a NES controller build - I don't want TWO messy cables running off it (and don't want to have to do the extra work to build a battery into it).

          Thank's for the nice feedback.

My next build will have a normal Type A USB port, so no dongle is required to connect an additional controller to play 2 player games.

The only thing I can't find a viable solution is for extending the HDMI port. Is there any?

What do you mean by extending? I think the most simple solution is an HDMI cable that has a mini HDMI on one end, and a regular HDMI on the other end. That way you don't need any adapter and it'll just plug straight into the TV or monitor (This is also why I want to find a combo HDMI/microUSB cable so there's only ONE wire going out to the area where the TV is for both audio/video and power).

I do not want big holes in my case. I want a tight fit.

I'll bet you can find a longer version of this. Right angle mini HDMI, you can route it right through the center hole the cord originally went through. With the larger battery you want to use that would take care of it's power needs, then it would ONLY have 1 single wire like the real SNES controller is meant to have ;) ...I don't know what that object in the old cord hole is now however - if it's something you're using or what (EDIT: just looked at your build pics again....seems to be a mini flashlight of some sort... 0;)

Might have to take an exacto and hack the right angle plug to save some space, and using epoxy to set the wire in place so it doesn't get ripped out would definitely be in order.

The thing in the middle is the on/off push button :-) The cable you suggest looks promising.

Don't be afraid to rip the rubber off the ends either to get some extra space! I just did that last night on something I'm working on (just be careful because the wires inside are very fragile as I'm sure you know).

Can you point me to where you bought the power button from?
