The secret to your enlightenment resides on this very page. It begins with "Please" and ends with "first".

I understand that, but i have read just about every post i can find.. Im so frustrated right now.. Ive been working on this stupid thing for days and i cant figure it out. the only way i have internet on it is with a direct connection to the router via ethernet.

Im literally just installing retropie, and trying to connect to wifi.. not really much information i can list.. I have a raspberry pi 2, with a wifi dongle that it came with from the kit i ordered on amazon. It has worked before but i havent messed with it in months. now it wont connect to wifi on the fresh install of retropie 4.1 or whatever the newest version of it on the site is. the message i get when it wont connect is "unable to connect to network" and says my network name.

Oh come on. It even says please. At least give us something to go on with the dongle you're using. What's the make and model for example? Also, when you say you've successfully used it before, in what environment and situation were you using it? I'm prepared to go as high as "pretty please", but it's my final offer.

it says canakit on the dongle. ive used it before on a previous version of retropie, and with rasplex but i havent used it in a while. Im thinking it may be an issue with my router.. but i dont know what that would be. ive reset the router multiple times. Thank you for trying to help me btw.

I have a few CanaKit dongles and they've never given me any trouble either. In the past, I've heard mention of users having difficulty connecting with passwords that are overly complex. Could that possibly be an issue?

Edit: Now that I think about it, the issues were actually related to the keyboard localization not being set. You might want to try that if you haven't already and then re-enter your password.

You mentioned earlier that you thought it might be your router. Was that just a guess, or can you think of a reason why it's suspect? Has it been misbehaving in any other way?

                          Sounds like a likely culprit.
