arcade buttons with separate boards for each player...
-
also ive configured retroarch input with udev and all console emulators do work with the controls and dont get messed up but thats until i play a mame game. then they all go wrong
-
It's funny I'm having the complete opposite problem! 😂
Please see:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/6290/con-mo-not-configured-with-particular-emulators-issue-please-helpSee if you can help me.
Does the set up you are using input in to two separate USB inputs to the PI?
I had a similar issue with a board I was using but that was through on input... there was some code I added that should have resolved the issue but it didn't until I found out my board was a replica of another board that functions fully. I purchased a a genuine Xin-mo board and it worked fine first time.Appreciate you are not using that system but may be a similar issue, as I purchased mine as a bundle from Ebay too.

@mat03111984 Read the "read me first" so that people know what it is you have configured and what it is that is not working for you. For example configuring Player 1 in Retropie is pretty meaningless. You mean Emulationstation? Retroarch?
-
@rbaker i did?
Like i said, ive setup controls buttons which have two separate boards as in the pic. Configured retropie input. Then ive configure retroarch config input and all console games work. But when i play a arcade game all the controls get messed up. Ige tried all mame emulators that retroarch have and it happens with each emulator. Just so strange!

@mat03111984 said in arcade buttons with separate boards for each player...:
i did?
Where? You mention MAME - which one? From looking at your picture, those encoders are zero delay? Have you read the 94 posts on here regarding them if you type "Zero Delay Mame" into the search? as instructed in the "read this first". The "read this first" is quite clear. I do not see this form filled out to enable others to help you. I don't see your edited configs so I can compare them against mine e.g. Non libretro mame or libretro MAME or maybe FBA? In fact, I see nothing and I am not psychic. If you want help, you simply have to follow it otherwise it's a guess and pointless. The fact that you have ignored it isn't a great way to request support especially as the message is in bold at the top of the page and it says specifically not to request support before reading it. You also agreed to read it when you registered.
So once again, if you require help, please complete this table:
Pi Model: (B, B+, 2 B etc..)
RetroPie Version Used: (3.6, 3.8.1, 4.01 etc..)
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc..)
USB Devices connected:
Controller used:
Error messages received:
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem:If you do, someone out there may be able to spot your issue. I have run out of time and patience. Good Luck.
-
@rbaker ok thanks anyway.
-
Would you be able to help me with my issue the link is in my above post.
I will fill out he table and edit my post :)
-
@Lukeydoo Your post will get answered when someone has time to look into it (if they can help). it doesn't help to go to other topics to try and get attention to your own topic - also emailing me directly is not going to help you (imagine if everyone did that - we have 5000 users here!)
-
Understood, I have changed the post to give all the information in the please read first.
I will wait patiently :D
Soorrrryyyy

@Lukeydoo Have you tried this?
this worked for me for consoles and has stayed working for me so far. loving it. just got mame to sort out now.
-
I have indeed, i must have watched that video so many times now to see if I have missed anything. But thank you anyway.
FYI if you are wanting to sort out Mame you hit tab on the keyboard and select general input then just map the controls accordingly :) -
@Lukeydoo awesome. Was going to give it a go today as i didnt have it with me at the weekend but i thought mapping with retroarch worked so must be input on the mame side. Thanks and good luck
