Does latest retropie linux have open gl?
-
I was playing pirate doom! on zdoom on my pi 3 with retropie 4.01. It wont let you play the second level because of it not having gl rendering. It talks crap to you about it then kills you. I have been reading stuff online saying that open gl had been added to linux for the pi. So if it is possible to use it in zdoom how do i need to do it? I havent updated my linux in retropie setup because i have the raphnet fix because my keyboard causes scrolling issues. I have no problems updating linux and having to do the fix again but if i dont have to... since it is a long process. I have updated retropie setup and I have several things update to 4.1.5 but not everything. Retroarch is the only core option i have updated at the moment.

@edmaul69 Is there a way for me to check to see if it's installed to let you know if it's worth updating? I'm running the latest Raspbian and RetroPie on my desktop Pi 3 (I last updated on 2016-12-26).

The opengl driver is desktop only (which retropie doesn't ship with) so if you enable it you'll essentially brick your system and will require a rewrite of the image. I'm sure there is probably a setting you can change if you can access the filesystem directly. But I don't know if I'd count on any improvements with it. It's still rather experimental

@herb_fargus i kinda figured it wasnt going to happen. I was just asking so i could hopefully play pirate doom! But im not a huge fan of bricks...
