Power problems with multiple controllers

I've recently noticed that since Rerropie 4 I noticed a multicoloured square at the top right of my screen at various points while playing. I've also started having problems with my Dualshock 4 controller - the one I use for Retropie - disconnecting and reconnecting fairly frequently.

I initially thought that it was a loose connection somewhere between the Pi and controller but I now realise it's a power problem. When I tried to connect two controllers at once - both Dualshock 4 controllers - one controller connects while the other just gets a red light that I assume means it's not getting enough power. With a 1P - Dualshock 3 / 2P - Dualshock 4 setup it crashes to command prompt almost immediately.

Is there a known issue with the Pi not having enough juice to power what are probably quite beefy controllers? I don't remember my Pi never used to have a problem powering two Dualshock 4s so I'm wondering what changed. It might have been with new firmware or something, or perhaps I've damaged something. Nothing seems obviously broken though.

Are Dualshock 4 controllers just thirsty beasts of controllers? Is there any way I can supply more power to my Pi to remedy the issue?

Get a new power supply. 5V, minimum 2.5A but probably best to get a 3A.

Is there any you'd recommend? Modmypi.com where I usually buy my Pi stuff only seems to have up to 2.5A.
