How make mame4all to use generic controlls from RetroArch like mame-libretro?
-
@skullmonkey Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
You can remap the controls by pressing tab - but the standalone mame4all emulator doesn't use retroarch configurations. Depending on your system, you may well be better off with another emulator too.

@BuZz Hey Buzz,
I know that it doesn't by default, but I thought since they are stored in a .cfg file or something, I can simply copy them so mame4all can use it?
I try to achieve this on Raspi2 and all other emulators (NES, SNES, Sega Mega,...) works well. -
@skullmonkey the input config file is not human editable (it's binary). It's a completely different emulator and does not share configuration files with the retroarch emulators. The only reason you can share configurations between the other emulators is because they are all libretro emulators.
-
@BuZz Thats bad. Any chance I can access the Input menu without keyboard? And by "another emulator" what do you suggest?
-
@skullmonkey You didn't provide me with any information about your set-up - tell me what you are running on and I'll advise.
You need a keyboard to access the menu in standalone mame4all - at least until the button is mapped to something else.

@herb_fargus Cool, thanks. Is Libreto batter in my case or anything else?
-
-
@herb_fargus I literally have this doc tattooed in my brain :D Is the game compatibility list (and the Input menu invoke) the only difference between the emulators?
-
@skullmonkey lr-mame2003 will be better on a rpi2.

@BuZz Thanks!
