    I recently put together a Pi 3 B and am running RetroPie 4.1 with Emulation Station. I want to add MAMEs for 0.164 but don't see that emulator listed on the Managing ROMs page. Any help would be welcomed. Thank you.

      @GGA You need to:

      a) get a set that matches the supported versions on the Managing Roms Page.
      or
      b) rebuild a working set from your current set.

        Which emulator are you using? You simply cannot copy and paste a MAME rom into the rom directory and play it. With MAME its kinda different compared to the rest.

        It's what @rbaker said. You can get the romset for fba 0.2.97.39, just use Google. Should take a couple seconds to find the website with the complete set. Once you do just use the lr-fbalpha emulator to play them.

        If you find a different romset you need to "upgrade" or "downgrade" the romset with clrmamepro. It's very easy to do so, the only part that takes so much time is copying them to your Pi :P

          I tried using Arcade and he various MAME emulators. None of them worked and that's why I asked. I will have to try the "upgrade"/"downgrade" option I guess.

            @GGA If you want an easy solution get a 0.78 romset. Put it it the arcade folder and use lr-mame 2003 as the emulator. In fact 0.78 is a non-merged set so you could download individual ROMs as zip files and have them work. Unfortunately I cannot tell you where to download the ROMs but if you search for "0.78 reference ROM set non-merged" you should find them.
