Wifi Unable to Connect

From a terminal, please type sudo cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and make sure the password is correct.

Did you try rebooting after it said it failed to connect? - the wifi package wait a set length of time and it's possible it will connect but it will take longer.

Check the output of ifconfig after a reboot and waiting 5 mins.

Please can you post the output of cat /var/log/syslog after rebooting and making sure the wifi configuration is correct above, and after waiting 5 mins. Please post it on a external pastebin site as it may be a large log.

please forgive my noobishness. This type of platform and these commands are new to me. I am pretty incapable at this point of looking at the code and analyzing what is off.

I typed that first string in, and the password is correct

I have tried to connect, then reboot and it still does not connect. Also, like I said, I have tried that "Method 2"

I tried iconfig too

I tried to show ip address

I ran the cat /var/log/syslog and yes, the output was quite enormous. I am not sure how to copy the text though from the raspberry 3 for display

Did you manually set it to WEP? Please reconfigure via the gui and repeat the commands. To get logs check the ssh page on the wiki.

If you changed the interfaces file please put that back also.

I would black out the password BTW - unless you already changed it for getting this to work.

I attempted with the interfaces and it did not work. I restored to the original.

I am sorry, i dont understand: What does "Please reconfigure via the gui and repeat the commands. " entail?

You said you followed the manual instructions so I wanted to see the output of the commands I wrote above after configuring via the wifi config tool as it shouldn't have detected your network as WEP, and you said you had put that in manually.

These commands - after reconfiguring wifi via retropie-setup:

Woo hoo.

I fixed the problem

I went into my router and changed the password. Made it 8 lower case characters, and put it in the WPA/WPA2 row. Connected through the easy retropie method 1.

Hi Mayday10 I haver the same issue , was unable to connect to my box using WIFi , my security key is 18 characters, I don't know if this is supported by the Rretopie V4.1 also !!

I will try this soon an get you inform if your solution fixed my problem.

Tip: Do NOT have "@" in the password.
