[SOLVED] Key you just pressed is not recoqnised by SDL spam message when using WiiU Pro controller
-
Hi @BuZz
That's correct, it was working fine on the 4.1 image before and has only started being an issue since I updated retropie_setup and emulationstation (and sudo apt-get upgrade in case that makes a difference).
Also, I've just confirmed that my Bluetooth 8bitdo FC30, USB RetroLink N64 and USB Xbox 360 controllers are all working fine. It's just my Bluetooth WiiU Pro controllers that are affected. (Side note - you should get one, I would consider them the best! :D)
The controller works as normal, it's just the spamming. Emulationstation does feel a little more sluggish when using it, perhaps due to the spamming in the background? But it's quite difficult to tell and I could well be wrong.
Let me know if there's anything else I can try for you.
Thanks!

@sonicsheppard The only difference is we hide the error on the older version - I think I put it back in as there were some other changes which I thought resolved it. Will comment it out again.
-
Ah I see, thanks @BuZz . Just let me know what to update after you've made a change and I'll let you know the results.
Thanks as always!
-
@sonicsheppard I have fixed it - whilst I build new binaries you can rebuild sdl2 from source from terminal by doing
sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh sdl2
-
sdl2 binary packages are now updated (update retropie-setup then ES).

Hi @BuZz
I've just updated the RetroPie-Script and then updated emulationstation from binary. It did download and make changes to sdl2, but unfortunately I'm still still seeing this spamming message after a reboot.
Emulationstation is saying "EmulationStation V2.1.2.RP" on the Main Menu, is this because I had updated Emulation Station from source a few days ago?
Would you advise I try uninstalling emulationstation and re-installing from binary, or maybe re-installing emulationstation from source?
Thanks

@sonicsheppard Strange as I commented out the code that prints that -
what is the output of
dpkg -s libsdl2-dev
from a terminal ? -
My bad - I was in a rush and somehow missed applying it to the retropie 2.0.5 branch. Have done the commit now, but will need to update binaries again.
-
No worries @BuZz , just let me know when it's good to try again and I'll let you know the outcome.
Cheers!
-
@sonicsheppard Done. Please update as before and it should be sorted.

Verified fixed. Thanks @BuZz !
