Updated borked install, help!

Hi!
I had 3.8, i think, and ran the RetroPie script update, then updated all packages. Now, ES doesn't start, i get a login prompt. If i type in the default credentials, ES starts, but won't accept input, and doesn't seem to be on the network. -
If i'm reading this right, it looks like it's not loading uinput or joydev. I can login to ES, but once I'm in, i have no input.

unfortunately ... I can only advise you from now, to make a complete image backup before EVER updating. I have 14 Retropie Projects and several of them have broken when updating. But I made an image backup, so I just formatted the SD card, started up again and back to normal.
It might take a little extra time, especially according to how large your SD card is, but I suggest always making a backup before updating.
There's not "go back" button after you update ... well, as far as I know, lol. -
Managed to SSH into it, manually ran updates again, had to force the dpkg lock removal, and all seems ok now, whew!
