Pi Model or other hardware: 3
Power Supply used: The one included
      RetroPie Version Used): 4.1
Built From: SD Image from retropie.org.uk
USB Devices connected: Keyboard, 2x game pads, 64GB USB
      Error messages received: None
      Guide used: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Commodore-64
      File: /retropie/roms/c64/*
      Emulator: VICE
How to replicate the problem: Basically when I load up a game I am greeted by the loading of the game and it seems fine but then there is a border of multi-coloured lines flashing and the game doesn't load... After a while it just goes to a full screen of these lines flashing different colours.

The emulator is emulating. For example, back in 1985 I sat playing Super Pipeline for hours but before I could do this, I had to wait 20mins for the game to load from a cassette tape. You are seeing the game "loading". Go and brew up a nice cup of tea whilst it loads up. Alternatively, if you are not keen on an authentic C64 loading experience, hit F12 and look down the menu. You can accelerate the drive so that it takes about 20secs as opposed to 20mins!

@jamesscott go into vice menu and go into speed setting. The first option is warp mode. If you select it, there will be an asterisk "*" on it. Then exit back to game. When you get to the menu screens you can go back an turn it off. Spacebar, return and escape are common buttons used on title screens.
