Where's the RetroPie-Setup API docs?
-
I'm getting a "Page not found" when accessing https://retropie.org.uk/retropie-setup-api/
It was available when the 4.1 announcement was posted...
-
@meleu /api/ - I'll update the post. The development page on main site links to the correct address

@BuZz I think I've found what was driving me crazy on the packages.sh commit history. I'm working on a scriptmodule and the installation were working fine, and then I've updated the RetroPie-Setup and the installation stopped to work. Now I see that I have to use the
noinstclean
flag. Everything seems to be working fine now. Is it enough?By the way, the scriptmodule I'm working is a frontend for the launching image generation tool.
Here are some screenshots of what I have so far:
Examples of generated images can be seen here.
Do you think it's worthwhile feature to include in RetroPie-Setup?
-
@meleu could do - is the scriptmodule available to look at ?
Output looks good. nice job.
-
@BuZz I've just posted the code to my fork to let you take a look: https://github.com/meleu/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/supplementary/launchingimages.sh
EDIT: my dev machine is Linux Mint laptop. I think it runs fine on the raspi, but I didn't test yet... Will do before submit the PR.

Thanks - had a quick look, and looks pretty ok, if you submit it as a PR, I will do a proper review (some styleguide and function naming issues). There is possibly a useful configuration function you could use to load/save previous configs.

OK, I'm working on it.
I'm always keeping in mind the operation via joystick, then I'm making available a way to load/save/delete config files based on the theme name (this way there's no need of a keyboard to type the filename). Example: custom configs for material theme will be named
/opt/retropie/supplementary/launchingimages/material.cfg
; for carbon,.../carbon.cfg
; etc.Pro:
- no need for a keyboard at all.
Con:
- themes can only have one config file.
Are you OK with this approach?
Here are some screenshots (took from a Windows+Cygwin environment. I'll post the code as soon as I get home):

Woaw ... excellent new feature man ... thanks a lot :D

Will it be possible to choose to the FONT or you auto use the same as the THEME ?
Because i think it is cool if we can use a font we use in the theme :) -

Because i think it is cool if we can use a font we use in the theme :)It uses the same font as the theme, as you can see in the examples in this topic: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/7193/runcommand-launching-images-for-any-theme/2
You can make suggestions on that thread ;-)
