      @mediamogul

      It worked with fceux and nestopia. Now it's not because i'm in Windows 10 but in Windows 7 it works fine.
      I hoped I could change some settings to get it work or edit the header.

        @supoc Out of curiosity I have tried 260/1 and 110/1 in both .zip and unzipped as .nes. I get the grey/black screen on both ROMs. My gut feeling is that there must be some sort of limit to the virtual RAM in the emulators RetroArch uses. The biggest NES game I have is 222KB. The 260 in 1 ROM is over 4MB unzipped. My guess is these simply aren't supported on the libretro cores on the Pi.

          Pity. So there is no option to change it all. Well thanks you tried it and get the information about the virtual RAM.

            That's a spicy meatball.

              @mediamogul Yes, I know. A whole 4 MB!!! But I think my reasoning is sound. I could be way off though...

                I've seen it happen before. the 'Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy' ROM hack for Sega Genesis/Megadrive won't work on all emulators for the same reason.

                  I think we should try different emulators than just the default NES ones, if there is a way to add new ones.

                    @itsnitro There are no "standalone" NES emulators available through RetroPie. There are 3 cores lr-nestopia, lr-fceumm and lr-quicknes: all libretro cores. TBH I don't know why anyone would want to use multicarts these days. They contain a pile of crap and any good games you want to play are available as standalone ROMs.

                      It's not about the good or bad games, it's the retro feeling. Like people digging the old commodore or a XT computer. Making a Gameboy zero while you have a emulator on a Nintendo ds. That kind of things. Everyone has his thing and taste. If it's possible and it can make someone happy then why not?

                        I collected 8-Track tapes in the nineties as a novelty and that has got to be hands-down the worst audio duplication and distribution format of all time, so I can indeed relate to inexplicable nostalgia.
