@bradleyhollander try again. Read this and repost with a lot more detail. We can't even tell by your post what emulator you are trying to run.

Are there files in the ~/RetroPie/roms/snes/ directory? If not, the SNES option won't show up in EmulationStation.

I plugged my ussb in to a pc and made a folder called retropie. Then I plugged it into my raspberry pie with retropie installed and waited a few minutes then I plugged it back into the PC and found my way to retropie/ROMs/SNES and placed my ROMs there. Then I plugged it into the raspberry again and left it to do its thing for a while then unplugged the USB and restarted the rpie and no ROMs or emulators show

@bradleyhollander You still do not provide the required information, for example what emulator? You answer "SNES" - meaningless. There are 6 emulators - which one? What is the file type that you are attempting to use? Is it an actual rom? Have you read this. You still have not read this either.

@bradleyhollander the folder you have to create on the usb drive has to be called "retropie-mount". Otherwise it won't work.
Also make sure your files have one of these file extentions

.7z .vec .gam .bin .zip .7Z .VEC .GAM .BIN .ZIP
you can find these in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

also make sure the files are (in your case -> snes) in the ~/RetroPie/roms/snes folder

@rbaker It quickly starts to feel like a lost cause. You ask for more detail, you give them the link to where there is an actual list of things that we need in order to help, and it is obvious there is no effort. Folks are still willing to help, but I understand the frustration that @herb_fargus and @BuZz must feel over the years--four posts after I asked for details and still none. I think I am out.
