@Darksavior nice! Weren't you using MAME 2010 for those?

I'm looking for something to play the System 24 ones decently, though, namely Gain Ground and Bonanza Bros.

@pjft Yes, I'm always trying to use other emulators since 2010 is ~7yrs old and not as optimized. With FBA its a crapshoot. Games are either faster or slower. For years, system16 stuff ran, but with problems. Tried Shinobi and E-Swat and run just fine. My Golden Axe and Altered Beast roms don't work so I'll have to hunt those down. Moonwalker is too slow but it boots now, maybe pi3 users can play that.

@Darksavior I see, thanks. The list of fixes and updates - namely showing a great indicator for racing games - is quite extensive!

Does this require a new ROM set? What's it based on?

@pjft I don't know what set's required. I'll try and get a recent mame set and see if that works, heh. Update: found them. They run too slow on my pi2, though.

With Bonanza Bros, it looks like 2010 loads it, but it's slow. Try the PC-Engine CD version. It's not as colorful but it has an arranged cd soundtrack.

@dankcushions Why not use a general fba compatibility list with a romset-version-column? That way you only have to add a new column, every time a new fba romset gets released, AND users can see if the older versions were working or not.

@AndersHP the main problem is adding the individual games and clones that weren't in the previous romset. it's not so easy to automatically lift those from the dat file and then populate all the relevant columns.

That way you only have to add a new column, every time a new fba romset gets released, AND users can see if the older versions were working or not.

i don't really want to complicate the lists any more than they currently are :(

@dankcushions agreed. They are a mess. Honestly I don't even know why we bother with mame lists. Either people have the correct romset it they don't and either the game is supported or it's not.... Leave it up to trial and error for people to figure out. No way for the lists to be consistent with all the people adding to them, all the diff hardware, and all the software updates

@UDb23 The blue screen problem I was having with the konami games was fixed too.

@Darksavior great news. Any particular highlights in terms of performance, improvements on the Pi or ROMS from the previous set that no longer work?

@pjft It's a long changelog, take a look at it. For me, its the proper support for system16 games. Performance? ehhhh. lr-fbaalpha is slower than lr-fba2012 in some games, like the konami ones.
