AGS emulator music problem?

Hi !
I've installed AGS emulator with Retropie (4.2) and installed King's Quest 3 Redux on my Raspberry Pi.

I installed the GUS patches as indicated (https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/blob/master/debian/README.md)
When I load the game I got an error that it is unable to run the theora video AGDI.OGV in the intro but it doesnt crash the game.
In the game, I cannot hear any speech and some music does not play (some does, maybe depending on the format of the music being played?..) ..Is there someone using the AGS emulator and has been successful at viewing the Theora video intro/speechs?
I cannot hear any speech for any of three King's Quest games made with AGS.
Am I missing any audio/video configuration?
When I launch the game, there is no errors in the logs (It tells my that the audio file + speech file has been initialized)
I can see in the logs that the digital driver = 'ALSA' / The midi driver = 'DIGI' (I don't know if it is good..)

@vdeG I'm a big fan of the King's Quest games and I use ScummVM for both the original AGI and SCI versions. Never know, it might load up with Scumm. See if you can add it withing the ScummVM gui.
EDIT: just tried adding it to my ScummVM on my pc and it isn't supported. I know some games aren't listed on the ScummVM site as compatible, but actually are. Sorry to stray you down the on the wrong path.

Yeah.. Unfortunately, ScummVM cannot run the KQ Remakes... :(
I wish I could manage to make them run flawlessly with the AGS emulator haha!! ;)

Is there any audio package/config that can be installed?
Seems like it can't output some type of audio and OGV video.. -

Nobody has an idea why some audio type does not work? ;(

@vdeG might be due to not compiling with enough libraries. Will look into it. Didn't know anyone used it :-)
That's also probably the reason you are not getting much feedback. It's not a popular package in RetroPie.

I dont know if it could help but I found someone on reddit that used to play the games with the sounds and video working fine, a couple of months ago.. He had a problem with his SD Card, he reinstalled everything and now he has the same problem as me, so I guess it something changed with the emulator in the last months.

@herb_fargus do you mean no sound at all? In my case some music play, but some don't.. and all the speech doesn't play..

@vdeG I never got sound running but people on the old forum said they did so probably missing a dependency or something but idk. I don't use it.

@BuZz do you think I could be missing a dependency? I think I have the package that reads OGV files.. but maybe I am missing something..

I have a Retropi 4.2 official release, i have install AGS last week, nothing more ...
Today i try some games because i love ScummVM and these games P&C.I try many games and for all i have the Sound & the Music.
For games with Voices, i have all of them.List of games try :
- Archeos v1.7
- A Tale of Two Kingdoms
- Before the Dark Cristal 2
- Christmas Quest 1 & 2
- King's Quest 1 v4.1
- King's Quest 2 v3.1
- King's Quest 3 v1.1
- Maniac Mansion Deluxe
- Quest for Glory 2 v2.0
- The Journey Down v1.01
My only problems are :
- We must use a Keyboard and a Mouse :p
It can be the best if we could map the mouse on the Analog Stick of our Pad :) - ES show directories and we must open them to show .EXE files and some times there are many exe.
Is it possible to found a way to launch BAT files or SH files and hide the directories ?
It is not beautiful to use like that with Covers and videos ... :(
Games crashing :

I try the LINUX and WINDOWS version and nothing :( Maybe it is so recent ? (07 June)
I can't also DL and understand how to have the last french translation too ...

Resurrecting an old topic, but just a note that if you update RetroPie-Setup to version 4.3.8 or later and reinstall AGS, MIDI playback should now work correctly - no need to install the GUS patches manually. AGS content will also automatically appear in EmulationStation without the need to manually edit any files. I've removed the obsolete instructions from the RetroPie wiki.
