      I never make assumptions. I always eliminate Gremlins, Poltergeist and a TRON-like race of cyber people living in my technology before I even look at user error.

        For Metal Slug I would recommend lr-fbAlpha from my own experience, but beware, it requires a different neogeo.zip. If you place all your MAME roms into the Arcade folder, they all show up under Arcade (both FB Alpha and MAME), which is very cool. Running MS 1+2+3+X on my Pi3, but without complicated shaders and Video Smooth on.

          But, if they are truly "TRON-like" then they fight for the users anyway.

            True, but if you don't do something about them, they'll soon develop their own art, culture and religion, which inevitably leads to the worst possible scenario for any intelligent society; holiday-themed variety shows.

              Almost as disturbing as TMNT Christmas special...

                Yeesh! You aren't lying. Even the name, 'We Wish You a Turtle Christmas' is cringe-worthy. It's definitely one of the worst out there.

                  @mediamogul Star Wars Holiday Special... at home with the Wookies, wtf? When I first watched this I could not believe my eyes. Or my ears.

                    @AlexMurphy I fondly remember watching this as a kid when it aired, but a couple months ago I looked at it on YouTube and could not get through 5 minutes without cringing.

                        I am glad you said that. I was about to click downvote.

                          @AlexMurphy

                          Terrible stuff. I actually have a copy of the shooting script that has the Wookie parts translated on the page. It doesn't improve things. Although 'The Star Wars Holiday Special' certainly holds the crown as the absolute worst, retro-gamers can seek out their own personal nightmare before Christmas with the ill-conceived 'Christmas in Pac-Land'. Theses shows are not without merit however. They're a great stand-in for ipecac if you can't make it out to your local pharmacy and you've run out of eggnog.
