Configuration per core - how to turn off?

@danfun Are you manually making the file? Create the file through RetroArch. Launch the specific game, bring up the RetroArch gui. Make the changes you want and then save in the Quick menu as Save Game Overrides

@danfun I'm not sure if this will help but I did have to override the core configuration for lr-fuse so that Jetpac can run on a 48K machine rather than a 128K machine. Here is my fix: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/5409/jetpac-on-zx-spectrum/2

@danfun If you are replying to me... Glad it worked. As for those other emus it will be specific to each one. Very few have a graphical front end of their own like the RetroArch cores, except some MAMEs They will most likely be config files that need to be manually changed.

yes I was replying to you. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know about a way to override on start config files? Would be nice if I could just stop these two files I created for that resolution hack to just not load on start of Dosbox emulator.

@danfun I don't use DOSbox but perhaps you could force the resolution in that specific and other emus from the runcommand launch. I couldn't tell you specifically how to do it but it's totally possible, I believe, by adding a run parameter. Or have you even tried going into the runcommand menu at launch and specifying a resolution for that specific emulator? This can also be done on a per-rom basis.

I tried that but it didn't do any good. Just standard resolutions there and I need to set a very specific, custom viewport

@danfun DOSBox isn't a libretro core so it doesn't use any of the RetroArch configurations such as custom viewport.

You can find the DOSBox config file, dosbox-SVN.conf, in the folder /opt/retropie/configs/pc.

Yeah I have tried to set a custom resolution in the config file but then Dosbox crashes on startup.

@danfun What settings do you try? The one I would try is aspect=true.

@dudleydes I tried that, also set fullscreen to true and specified the exact resolution in fullresolution and windowsize. I have a framework of 1600x240 and smaller resolutions are scaled up to pixel perfect fullscreen after some tinkering in this mode. Seems much easier to accomplish with emulators using Retroarch gui though.

@danfun You seem to exhausted all options in DOSBox so I don't know what else to suggest.

There is a libretro version of DOSBox but it is currently unusable because of this issue.

If I uncomment the onstart.sh and onend.sh scripts it works great, and with fullscreen. Doesn't seem like a very good solution in the long run though...
