    @AlexMurphy Is there any way to pull the games off of the SD card before I wipe it? I don't want to have to go through getting them again.

      @RedOwen1177 If you still have access via samba, then just copy the ROMs folder to your PC.

        @RedOwen1177 is your raspi connected to your LAN? Are you using Windows? If your answer is yes for both questions, you can get your ROMs using Windows Explorer. Open it and go to \\YOUR_RETROPIE_IP\roms and backup your games.

          @AlexMurphy @meleu

          That's the issue. It doesn't respond to pings, I've connected both it and my computer to the same network through ethernet, i've connected them together with a crossover cable, but it still isn't showing up in windows.

            @RedOwen1177 said in Retropie asks for login before playing game and won't go on:

            RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):

            Also, you didn't fill this field.

                @AlexMurphy It isn't connecting to the internet. It doesn't have an ip, at least one that a arp -a shows.

                  @RedOwen1177 arp only shows the other devices on your network. Not the one you are using.

                    @AlexMurphy I don't know what IP it is. I'm using my windows laptop, because any time I try to do something on the Pi, it asks for the password that nothing can fix. I was trying to use the arp -a to find the IP for you, and to possibly get the files off of it that way.
