Help with TI994 Emulator
-
Hi, If you have the Ti-994 simulator working, can you please tell me the correct naming (case sensitive), number and placement of the bios files?
I have 4 files: TI-994A.ctg, Ti-994a.dat,spchrom.bin and spchrom.dat. Do i need them all and which folder do they go in? Are they named correctly in the right case?
I have the experimental emulator installed and have my game roms in .ctg format in the rom folder.
I do not even show the TI-994 in the scrolling retro-pie selection screen.
What am i doing wrong? -
@Everett1954 Hi Ev! Check to see if the
ti99
appears in youres_systems.cfg
file in/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
. Check there and report back! -
@AlexMurphy said in Help with TI994 Emulator:
es_systems.cfg
This is in es-systems.cfg
%ROM%</command>
<platform>stratagus</platform>
<theme>stratagus</theme>
</system>
<system>
<name>ti99</name>
<fullname>TI99</fullname>
<path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ti99</path>
<extension>.ctg .CTG</extension>
<command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS ti99 %ROM%</command>

I have 4 files: TI-994A.ctg, Ti-994a.dat,spchrom.bin and spchrom.dat. Do i need them all and which folder do they go in? Are they named correctly in the right case? The only BIOS file that you need is TI-994A.ctg with that case and it goes into
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/ti99
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/TI-99/#bios -
tried that, TI994a does not show up in emulation station.
-
@Everett1954 Then you have done something wrong. The emulator is not installed or you haven't transferred ROMs that are acceptted by the emulator, or...
-
@AlexMurphy since there is an es_systems.cfg entry for ti99 not having the emulator wont keep the games from showing up. Its just that there are no roms with the same file extension as listed in the roms folder.
@Everett1954 are you unzipping your roms before putting them on your pi? They need to be unzipped and have a .ctg file extension.
-
So when I looked at /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg there was no Ti99 lines in there.
I manually added them and it now works!
When I did the experimental package install should it have added the lines for the TI-99 or do they always have to added manually?
-
When you install/remove emulators, that gets updated in
/etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
but if you also have/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
, well that one will take precedence but it doesn't get updated so you have to manually update it.
