CPS Games not working
-
Hi i just got my Pi 3 today and installed RetroPie and loaded all of my games and when i try to play a CPS 1 or 2 type game it shows the hold button to config and then back to the rom listing and wanted to play my old classic arcade games from the past such as Captain Commando, The Punisher and Marvel Super Heroes but like i mentioned it always brings me back to the rom listing any way i could fix this?

@Ecks First consult the wiki, there is a detailed explanation on how to setup arcade games:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/ArcadeBesides that, the most common problem is your romset doesn't match the version of the emulator you are using.
-
Chances are they are trying to be run using MAME 2003. You instead would want Final Burn Alpha as your emulator of choice for CPS games, as they typical run better or even at all.
Assuming you have all your CPS ROMs under the Arcade folder...
- Load your CPS ROM normally.
- Configure your loading options right after the splash screen appears.
- Select the second option named Select Emulator for ROM.
- Select lr-fbalpha.
- Exit out and select Launch.
This option also works for NeoGeo ROMs. To really make it simple, just put all your CPS and NeoGeo ROMs in your FBA folder.
Hope this helps!

cps1 & 2 all run fine on lr-mame2003. you need the right romset, however (as with lr-fbalpha)

Please read the link that was posted a few lines up. Get the correct romset to the emulator you want to use. I prefer fba.

I prefer to use FBA as well, try use the latest FBA romset (v0.2.97.40). When you got that right , make sure you included the parent rom (normally the file size are bigger compare with clone rom)

Amigo instale mame2010 através das configurações do retropie todos os CPs 2 vão rodar.
