Retro Achievements: complete rom name list

Using Retropie 4.2 on RP 3

Does anyone know of a list of rom names (specific file names) that Retro Achievements works with? The Retro Achievements site/forums doesn't seem to have one. At least I haven't found it yet.

There is no such list. The RetroAchievements doesn't use file names for this, but the ROM hash.

So only current solution is to search on forum for each individual game or try a bunch of different ones?

@meleu I assume you mean you have to get the actual rom it is designed for and can't simply change the file name.... I'm just trying to find a compiled list of what works. Thanks for the quick responses.

This is an example of a ROM file name: Arkanoid - Doh it Again.sfc
This is the hash of the same ROM: 73afa2fc098f616c2047cd990283e6dc

Even if I rename the file to blablabla.sfc the hash will be the same. That's why we use hashes for RetroAchievements.

My approach is:

Launch a game and see if it has cheevos (RGUI -> Quick Menu -> Achievements List)
If the RetroArch Achievements List is empty:
2.1. I look if there are cheevos for the respective game in RetroAchievements site (there is one section for each system).
2.2. If there are cheevos, I check why RetroArch isn't able to load the achievements list (checking the logs if there are connection problem, etc.)
2.3. If I'm pretty sure that it isn't a connection problem, I start researching the retroachievements website (game page comments or forums) about a specific version of the ROM, they usually post the hash needed.

You can use the md5sum command.

What exactly you want to do? I mean, the final results...

@meleu just want to make sure I have the roms that will work with achievements... I can do one by one... but if there was a list, I might be able to look at them all in the file folder ... But your strategy will work.
