      Hey guys,
I've got an old samsung tablet, and was wondering if I could use it as a primary monitor for the pi. I've got the usb on the go cable and was wondering if there is a way to output a video signal through the usb port on the rpi. Thanks in advance!

@ethan8r nope. Tablets typically only have video output not input unless you do some hardware hackery wizardry

You could just install the RetroArch app on your tablet

@hex I haven't seen a VNC client for the framebuffer before. I don't how well it would perform, would be interested in seeing results

@herb_fargus if tablets can't take video in, how do applications like twomonusb work to use the tablet as a secondary monitor over usb?

@ethan8r Do you really want to play Retropie games on a tablet through the USB port? Think how bad the lag would be. In order for you to use the tablet as monitor consider these:

                1. Most USB ports on tablets are for charging the battery. They do not take in information from other source other than through WIFI.
                2. Those that do, the video information from RPI has to be translated to USB data either through hardware/software hackery wizardry. Then you will need an application on the tablet to properly re-translate the information back to video. These translations would no doubt introduce delays and lags in game playing time.
