Retropie attractmode back to emulationstation problems

So i was trying to get attract mode running, didnt work properly, wouldnt show any layouts. Now, I am trying to get back to emulationstation, it is very stressful. also i edited the autostart to make the retropie start with attractmode. But now whenever I launch the retropie machine, it brings up the terminal and i cant do anything please help!
