Thanks mate! Appreciate it <3

Hi Ruckage I'm a super big fan of your work and I've made a SNES america system icon for the carousel, if you want it i can give you a link, if not then just know that I love everything you've made for this system and I just wanted to contribute in anyway I could. Thanks again
-
@fabianvg There's already a SNES one in the SNES folder. You can rename it to make it the main.

I really want to complete the theme on my own though as I've done so much of it already and want it to be all my own work, I hope you understand. I think your icons look really good but as @lilbud says I'm just stubborn :).
@ruckage said in Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes:
Regarding your mockup, It's nice you felt inspired to make that but as I've said several times previously I want to complete this alone. I have done all the other systems myself and want to do the rest myself as well as I have my own ideas for how I want each system to look.
@ruckage said in Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes:
You just need to be patient, I have literally put months of work into this drawing everything myself and do not want it to be fragmented, I have a clear idea of how I want each system to look and so wish to work on it alone. I'm sorry but I do not give permission for @ João-Nuno-Cravinho to release this. I hope you understand my reasons and will respect my wishes.
@ruckage said in Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes:
While I appreciate the enthusiasm for my theme I've made it quite clear that I would port the theme myself once I've completed all or most of the systems, I feel this is more than fair. My license terms with the theme are also very clear:
@ruckage said in Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes:
Thanks :). Yeah, I totally agree. I just find it really satisfying to produce something single-handedly and it's nice to feel proud of something that was all your own work, (I know a few bits of this theme originated from the Nes classic menu but the vast majority of it is now my own work) I'm sure you feel the same way.
At this point sharing the workload on this theme would feel a bit like giving away my baby :D.@ruckage said in Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes:
Thanks for the offer but I'm happy doing it myself at the moment. And it's only 42 that need to be done to start with as the theme only has 42 systems so far (and I've already drawn 21 icons so I'm halfway).

Hi.
First of all, I want to thank you for this amazing theme. I enjoy it a lot.
I know you want to finish it on your own. You have your own style and if other people start contributing it will probably show in the final version. Also it's fun to do it.To the users: If you're like me and don't like having a black space for a system in the to-do list, you can use this hastly made Dreamcast system images I made until rukage releases the official one. I made ones for Sega32X and PC (dosbox) but they are so horrible that I won't share them. Thrown together in a few minutes with almost no experience in Photoshop (recently transferring from Paint Shop Pro).
This is not official and it doesn't have ruckage's support. It's meant to be used temporarily until the official pack comes out. You can use it or modify it anyway you want to as long as you're clear on those points.
http://www79.zippyshare.com/v/S8KnmnLE/file.htmlIf ruckage for some reason wants me to remove it, I'll do it.
Edit: I just read now that the official version will probably be released this week. At least I'll know how far I was from some quality theme. lol.
I guess I'll leave the link just for the fun of it. -
@ruckage i tried.......sorry man
-
I'm going to bookmark your previous post and just paste it as a response in the future :D

@mattmanforever , ha, I made it awhile ago i just finally got around to posting it,. Thanks!
-
Sorry about bringing this up again, I'll just sit right back down and wait till all the goodies are done.

@RUCKAGE
Nice theme. For me the best so far. If you find the time it would be great to add "Favorites".
For the people who don't know you can select games from any system and it to the favorites menu in ES.
Thanks bro -
Hi. Already being worked on - see this post from last week: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/8391/cardboard-mini-nes-nes-mini-and-famicom-mini-themes/896

I tried to install this theme two times now, but all I get is white background and text, no pictures. Downloaded and installed twice, same thing... using it on a Pi Zero w, any advice?

Should have checked the update notes in the readme or looked in the SNES theme folder ;) - the alternate SNES icon has been included since the update 20 days ago. I'll let you off though, I guess most people don't see the readme as they install the theme through retropie.
I wonder if it would be possible to display the update notes when you install/update a theme.

You're not using the latest version of EmulationStation. This theme require the latest version to work so you will need to update it from source.
To do this in Retropie go to the retropie/config menu and select the following:
1. Retropie Setup
2. Manage Packages
3. Manage Core Package
4. EmulationStation
5. Update From SourceIt will take a little while to compile, once it's finished you will have the latest version of ES. Restart the system and the theme should work.

Thanks, you are right I was not.... actually I did not dare to install it, I have been working on a project and needed the gamecon-driver to work and I belive there is a bug or something... anyhow, I was afraid to update, before I could get the gamecon-driver to work...
Did not get it to work, so had to do a (way to big) workaround, so I will give this a try now and cross my fingers =) -
@zippiz
Updating just emulationstation on it's own shouldn't affect anything else so you should be okay. -

Well, its been going for more than half an hour maybe even close to a hour and is 29% now, thats more than a "little while" ;) Haha, I was thinking maybe it would take 15min or so...still so new at this.
Why would the theme need this btw?
-
@zippiz
It' probably slow because you're compiling on a pizero which isn't that fast - it doesn't take too long on rpi3.EmulationStation has had lots of changes and improvements the last few months and my theme takes advantage of many of them - the downside being that as these features aren't in the older versions of ES the theme won't work in them.
-
@zippiz
pi zero takes forever to compile anything
(BTW, looking forward to your clone NES in a controller "how-to" video. If postal tracking is to be believed, I should have mine tomorrow!)
