      @mitu perfect thank you

      I formatted using the USB formatting guide here:

      https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/format-large-hard-drive-fat-fat32/

      Using FAT32 Format

      Plugged the stick in, clicked format and waited haha.

      Yes, it can be run.

      You should put a more descriptive title - summarizing your question/problem - instead of a generic word.

      @A-pi said in ROMs from exfat USB drive, drive not automatically mounting on startup:

      Incidentally, blkid still shows the drive (/dev/sda2)...?

      blkid shows you the block devices detected by the system, but that doesn't mean they're mounted and available. The mount command should give you the list of mounted (and available) drives. I guess your drive is not automatically mounted at start or there's an error mounting the drive - check you by manually mounting it and see if any errors show up.

      @che_don_john Ahh..gotcha..I was just curious. I see alot of people transferring via usb and have problems. So much easier using ssh. I was one of them when I first got my pi as I watched a youtube vid with no knowledge of ssh, and I found it took forever to transfer games via usb..lol . Glad you got it sorted !
