Air mouse / wiimote - Cursor working but confined to a small bounding box in the upper left corner of the screen
-
Pi Mode: B+
Power Supply used: 2.5A
RetroPie Version Used 4.1.14
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Mayflash dolphin bar, keyboard
Controller used: wiimote
Emulator: ScummvmHi all,
I'm hoping somebody may have encountered this before - I'm currently setting up scumm vm, and have normal mouse functionality working well. I was hoping that I could use an air mouse as a sort of 'pointer' to control the point and click interface...
So i got hold of an old wiimote and a mayflash dolphin sensor bar which plugs in via USB. With the bar set to mode 2 (mouse and keyboard), the sensor bar translates the wiimote's IR signal into mouse movement.
I got this working to an extent, when in the scumm menu or with a game booted, the cursor moves freely (and surprisingly well!) but with one huge caveat: the cursor is confined to a small box in the upper left corner of the screen, and hits an invisible wall if you try and move it across the full width of the screen.Strangely if i plug a regular mouse back in, the problem disappears and I regain full control of the screen again.
This is so close to working, I'm hoping there's a small tweak that can be made somewhere to increase the size of the bounding box or the screen dimension? I flicked through all of the options in the scumm menus with no luck.
Any ideas?
The help is hugely appreciated!
Thanks,

I dunno if this will work, but try a different mode and see what happens.

Hey thanks for your reply,
Yeah switching through the different modes doesn't seem to change anything. Modes 1 & 2 work fine, switching to 3 and 4 loses the cursor completely.
I've also tried switching the overscan option on and off in retropie_setup to see if that changes anything but no difference there either.
Frustrating as the emulator seems to register the input just fine. Has anybody dug around and changed any controller inputs for ScummVm before?

This is an old thread on the same problem I'm currently having with my dolphin bar and scummvm.
Has anybody found a solution?
Thanks for any help.

@weirdocollector Hi, I had the same problem, there would be a new thread and I didn't choose help. I solved it by updating to the latest kernel version, and updating retroarch.
