      I have a Bluetooth controller Ipega 9023.
The problem is I cannot play with it since it is only recognized as a keyboard.
Is there an handling to do in order to enforce Retropie to recognized it as a controller ? (like a file to write ... ?)

      Spec : Retropie 4 and a Raspberry 3

@the-owner I have this same controller. You have turn it on using X+Home to make it be recognized as a joystick.

I predict problems when mapping buttons and I'd suggest you to try to follow these steps I'm talking here:

I have just updated all the retropie's packages and after that the controller has been recognized (for the first time ) as a controller. The controller has worked in the menu but not in game. There was the problem of mapping that I partially solved by your solution.

Now I have two new problems linked :

          • In game I cannot push two button simultaneously : For example if I run (horizontaly) and i want to jump because there is a hole, I jump only vertically. Is there an option to set ? a line to modify in a file ? edit : in kirby 64 (and in n64 games probably ?) I do not have this problem. Maybe there is a conflict with my wireless keyboard ? I have 2 dongles : One for the controller and one for the keyboard. In game the keyboard and the controller are in the player 1. Maybe it is the main problem ?

          • I have no button to quit the game to main menu.
Firstly, Is it possible to take a combination of button and how is it coded ? Secondly, maybe there is a line to add in "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/CONTROLLER-NAME.cfg" in order to add this action (quit a game to main menu) ?

The problem seems to be that you didn't turn on the ipega with X+Home and it's conflicting with your keyboard. Does this problem happen in other emulators?

            The default is start+select.

Secondly, maybe there is a line to add in "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/CONTROLLER-NAME.cfg" in order to add this action (quit a game to main menu) ?

That config file affect RetroArch only and the quit option is already there (default is start+select). I don't know how to config input for N64...

EDIT: check the docs and you'll find valuable info.
