Useful topics/posts index

I was thinking in a post to catalog the scripts I wrote for our community. And then I thought that we have several great topics here and they deserve to be cataloged as well. This post is my attempt to do that.
If you remember other useful topics, post it below and I will update this post.

Since I have free time now...If you want a splashscreen, ask away.
Also, my splashscreen post is the earliest post listed up above and I take pride in that.

Added a link to the "official unofficial RetroPie torrent" topic.
@Global-Moderators any chance to get this topic here sticky (if you find it useful)?
-
How about a Tools section? Like UXS, Gengal and the Retropie Metadata Editor. I'm on my tablet right now but I can post links tomorrow if needed/wanted.
-
@EctoOne it would be very much appreciated :-)
-
Curating all these highly useful links into one thread is a great idea. Making it a sticky also seems appropriate, but if the 'forum rules' and 'read this first' threads are any indication, it sadly wouldn't guarantee that most people still wouldn't ignore it outright. I'm all for it personally, but let's hear what the rest of the jalapeño jar has to say. If the aesthetics around here were up to me alone, I would have already hung up all my Joe Don Baker posters by now.
-
@mediamogul jalapeño jar? Joe Don Baker posters? I think it's that smile-and-nod time!
Just kidding! I think I got what you mean, let's wait. :-)
Cheers!
-
In terms of tools, may I humbly submit the Simple Arcade Multifilter
-
@markwkidd I've added an "useful tools" section and your tool is there! ;-)
-
Useful Tools:
- Universal XML Scraper (Windows) - Scraper which can create Mix images.
- Retropie Metadata Editor (Windows) - GUI to edit gamelist.xml files.
- Gengal - Gamelist XML Generator (Windows) - GUI to add marquees and videos to gamelist.xml files.
Those are the ones that helped me save a lot of work. And i hope this thread will get pinned.

I second this! Great list! It would be great to have this pinned and updated periodically.
@meleu you should add that list of mac specific programs thread to the list also, that was useful for us mac users

Yep. This is my intention.
I'll add the other links this evening.
Thanks.
-
@meleu great topic. If also like to submit the ES Toolkit to the list.
-
Just when I thought my tinkering was done, I find three things on here I will be implementing tonight. Great post, I second the sticky! Very excited to try out the automatic image launching.
-
This obviously couldn't be done too often, but the thread is indeed highly useful and appears to be well received without any objection from other mods or admins, so let's stick a pin in it, as the old saying goes.

I believe is how the saying goes.
