Like many I have downloaded ROM packs that are labeled Mame, FBA etc. I am finding that many roms are duplicated in each folder so I have to sort through them and delete duplicates.

Is there a definitive list (tried to look) that tells you which emulator works best with each rom? I don't know if its just me but I can play 1941 in FBA or 2003 and it plays the same. There are just to many games to be able to play each one and decide which to remove. They all seem to work with both emulators. Am I missing something?

      Thanks!!

      Chris

I think you probably want to take a look here:

Click on the 'All Arcade ROMS Compatibility List' link.

no-one has tested the 1000s upon 1000s of combinations of rom and emulator, so there's no 'definitive list'. it's trial and error. that 'all arcade roms compatibility list' is very out of date now. i think maybe it should be retired...

generally, lr-fbalpha will be faster in games that it and lr-mame2003 support, and should have more complete emulation. some games are only on lr-fbalpha (CPS3 games are the only ones of note, really), and many games are only on lr-mame2003 (typically older arcade games).

if you use the arcade folder you can select any arcade emulator (mame/fba) to run any given rom, so you will only have one folder. but you will need to cherry pick roms from their appropriate romsets when transferring.

@dankcushions Thanks for the info. If I wanted to use the Arcade and Fba folders for select games, I notice you can't pull up with TAB (like in Arcade) a controller config per game in fba. Is there a different command to pull it up? How do you configure ?

            Thanks.
