Hi, I'm a user from retropie and I have some problems regarding USB External Drives, I'll divide the 2 issues I'm experimenting right now:

1 - USB Automonting and permissions:
When I insert a USB-Drive and try to watch a movie with KODI, kodi does not detect or automount that drive, there's a workaround but you have to identify the HDD-ID and edit some system files for kodi to recognize it, which is fine to some point if you know all your usb devices...
But what happens if you are in the house of a friend and he passes you a totally unknown new USB-Drive?, It's not practical...
And it's not useful to have a KODI box that does't read/automounts USB-HDD/Pendrives.
Also, if I launch KDE-Desktop and I introduce a new Pendrive/USB-HDD it automounts the device but asks a password... which is not practical at all again, it's a fucking usb for god's sake, let me liberate my usb's...
I think this is some kind of permissions issue, i don't know if someone knows how to fix it, but It'll be great.

2 - External USB HDD Autosleep mode:
I have an External USB HDD in which I store PSX ISOS, apparently most of USB-HDD have a "feature" in which the disk stop spinning after let's say 10 min of inactivity, this causes some big pause (5 seconds or so...) while playing PSX games until the disk starts spinning full speed again. (This happens everywhere and everytime, It happends aswell on windows when I start a Movie and the device is not ready...)
This is a well known issue, and there is a workaround, you only have to write a file every X minutes (10 min on this case) and the device will always stay active, so it would be interesting to have an script to do this automatically (auto-launch), It would be even better if someone could add this as an option on the retropie menu.

Are any of you having these issues too, can someone please help me solve them??
