@ruckage I responded you too there, and while you are right for me consistence is king 😀 I love your theme but for me there are themes where the background scroll or fade does not fits with it, another good example are the Playstation theme and the switch theme, nothing against your theme, I love it (and even I was the first to suggest it) but for me consistence is king, to the point that even I preffer gamepads with SNES layouts over the ones with XBOX layouts, this is why I bought a Pokken pro pad only for my pi and RetroPie and why I cant use Recalbox wich for ES uses an XBOX input layout while on RetroArch uses the SNES one, even on my PSP I skip gmes that uses ∆ to cancel

I have no idea what you mean by that, not sure what's inconsistent here.

You're free to use whatever theme you like but it's twice that you've posted now to say you won't be using my theme because of no 'simple slide' and I gave instructions on how to do that in the latest versions of ES (set 'Transitions Style' to Instant and 'Carousel transitions' to On) and it behaves virtually identically to simple slide (carousel scrolls by and the background changes instantly).

You can see it working in my preview video:

Are you expecting something different to this?

Great work.

I gotta say, the thing that I find most appealing about new themes is how they handle unknown systems (without artwork or logos, etc). The trick is to make the default font or icon look like part of the default theme - as opposed to ugly text hat looks out of place.

This keeps me from feeling obligated to always add my custom logos and artwork. Saves me time. Lol.

I noticed that retropie 4.3 has made much improvement in this respect.

This is brilliant! This theme should be the default one in Retropie, since it looks so clean you could use it as marketing advantage!

PS: This theme is lacking MSX, otherwise it's perfect :-)

@nko Sadly RetroPie could be sued if it had this theme by default, Nintendo is realy protective with all things Nintendo

@nko Glad you like the theme.

I think Carbon is the perfect default theme for ES, it supports all the systems and it's a nice clean look. A lot of the fun with retropie comes from customising it to your own tastes though and that's where all the different themes come in and there a lots of amazing themes available to suit any taste.

@ruckage That is true :) right now I am using Carbon as my default because I am also using the Carvon video splashscreen and my custom Carbon launch images with SNES mini as secundary theme

@lilbud Thanks. I've already drawn everything so I technically don't need it but it's cool to see. There are some difference, but it's mostly deliberate. I may use it to adjust a few colours as mine were drawn by hand based on youtube videos so it's possible a few of the colours are way off (not that it really matters).

Where did you find the image - have they dumped the European and Japanese version yet as I'd like to see those too.

I found it on the snesminimods subreddit over on Reddit. As the kernel is dug threw, more images may be found.
