SNES mini theme

@pokeengineer At this point, let's all drop it and get back on topic... That topic being the awesomeness that is the SNES Mini Theme 😀
-
i think: if there is no license to modify the theme is ok , i can't see the problem here, and for what someone want to launch a modify theme if you don't redesigned the complete theme, is unnecessary and there is free resourse to take pixelated icons for you own work and theme
-
I would like that. ☺
-
@hyruleslink I can't wait for the next release with the 4:3 support. This theme is awesome!!!
-
I agree. Ruckage has busted butt on this theme. Looks so great! Keep up the good work. Good, haha. GREAT work!
-
@zerojay @greedoshotfirst stop flagging each others posts - if you are going to bicker, and then flag posts (and waste my time), my solution will just be to ban you both from the forum.
-
Okay, it might take me a little time to get to it. Alternatively, send me a pull request and I'll integrate it asap.
EDIT: Uh, something really weird is going on in this forum. The above was posted on a different thread. :)
Also, I haven't been back to this thread since my last post and I didn't flag his post so...? I did flag a different thread though.
-
@zerojay No - you both flagged posts in this thread.

As I said, something weird is going on with this forum where actions I'm taking aren't happening where they should be.
"Okay, it might take me a little time to get to it. Alternatively, send me a pull request and I'll integrate it asap." <-- Meant for the atari800/kat5200 thread. The post I reported wasn't meant to be greedoshotfirst's as I haven't been back to this thread to see his second post to begin with until you pinged me here. I'm mentioning this in case you aren't aware that this seems to happen from time to time. Otherwise, I'm moving on as previously.
-
The thread seems to have taken a bit of a detour. Time to get back on track I think.

Is this theme compatible (improved?) from using this guys square boxart?
The theme works fine with any artwork you provide - square artwork will probably be even better as it will fill the preview widow.

Sorry for the delay with the update everyone, I've been slacking a little the last few weeks for various reasons but will get the update finished and uploaded soon. It will support several 4:3 resolutions but probably not NTSC / PAL until a later date. I will also explain how to do the external config files.

Thanks, I appreciate it. :D
And thanks to everyone else taking the time to comment, knowing that people enjoy using the theme makes all the work worthwhile. And it's nice to get feedback (even if I don't always agree ;) ).

I do want to reiterate that your theme is incredible and I do love your work. If I didn't, I wouldn't feel disappointed about your choice to keep working on it alone, but it's also hard to argue with your results. :)
My apologies, I didn't intend any personal attack on you.

@zerojay have you made a donation to Ruckage before? If not you should probably do that first and foremost before anything... if you have make another one. Hes not getting paid for any of this but does it to help out the community.

Hi @skr1b , I appreciate your support but I just want to be clear that there is no obligation for anyone to donate. While I really do appreciate any donations I receive I certainly don't expect them and it's not the reason I make and continue to work on the themes.

@ruckage hey man- i 100% agree and understand and that was not my intention to put words in your mouth. Its me talking. My thought and some may and may not agree but when you have a strong opinion about certain things one does and you want changes, adds etc The correct thing to do when one is putting in a lot of ones own free time, is to make a donation even if super small as i get not everyone can afford it. But it helps. I know. Anyway.... a suggestion thats all. Thanks!

@buzz loud and clear 👍

@ruckage I just want to say: WOW! What a fantastic job you have done with this and all your themes! I was using the NES one first, but now I've switched to this. Really, great job!

@flyingtomahawk Famicom and Nes already have support for 4:3 screen. If you like red, white and static wallpaper, Famicom is your theme, buy if you like gray, black and dynamic wallpaper, Nes is the answer. Both are great themes.
-
@ruckage how do you create your pass through layers? bg_tron folder. any tips and tricks?

Very helpful post but I think @FlyingTomahawk was referring to the Famicom console he kindly donated to me which I'm working on converting to a retropie console.

Any news or development on the Famicom?
I've made a bit of progress but I've decided I'm definitely going to use vinyl dye as I've seen a few other Famicoms sprayed with it and they look brand new. Problem is I'd have to spray it outside and it's now starting to get pretty cold here which could delay things. I'm going to order some anyway and then as soon as there is a warmish day I'll be ready :) .
I'll make a separate topic soon, I've started work on making replacement metallic labels for the console which are looking good and I've bought replacement rubber membranes for the controllers. I'm still deciding on the best way to incorporate everything inside the shell - space is fairly tight but I'll figure it out. At the moment I'm thinking having the pi just in front of the cartridge port will work best for me.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
