@redbatman
It will be updated, I'm just busy with my own projects at the moment. How dare you! ;)
Seriously though your themes are absolutely stunning. I have two raspberry pis and I have the NES mini theme on one and SNES mini theme on the other. Cant wait to see what you cook up next!

@ruckage Hey, this theme is great! I love your SNES mini and NES mini themes, they are my favorite.
Anyway, I followed ETA Prime's tutorial (bottom of post) on how to stream steam games to retropie using moonlight. The fact that there was no logo bothered me enough to make my own! I'm posting it here in case anyone wants to use it. I don't mind if you add it into your theme, or heck, maybe this'll inspire you to make a (probably better) logo of your own!MOCKUP SCREENSHOT:
(I do not have the ability to take a screenshot on my raspberry pi, at least I don't know how; thus, this is a mockup screenshot I created. Some things in this mockup will appear lower quality than they would if you imported the assets correctly into retropie. The largest inaccuracy in this screenshot is the "2 games available" text, as it is a different font)DOWNLOAD (readme included)

OTHER NOTES:
UPDATE: I made an NES Classic version of this, too! Click here to check it out!
I did not make a background for the "tron" versions of this theme. If anyone would like to make some steam-inspired one, though, feel free! I might get around to it if I get more spare time.
I hope you enjoy! This is my first time posting on this website, let me know if this is the wrong place.ETA Prime's tutorial:

Is there a animated/video splashscreen that would go nicely with USA theme?
-
I'm a noob to this kind of stuff, how do I install this theme?
EDIT: I downloaded the zip, I unzipped the theme and placed the theme (the whole folder) in
/etc/emulationstation/themes
but nothing happened, did I do something wrong? -
@sonpluck Install the theme:
Retropie Configuration Menu>ES Themes then scroll down until you see SNES Mini by Ruckage.
@Shadow666 The SNES Mini theme has an included splashcreen. You just need to put it in the right folder.
-
@rexjaguarius I love your kodi icon, its great for a clomplesionist that likes to customize every single detail of their retropie build, i was wondering if you could please make the kodi bottom logo so it matches the other systems in the themes? thanks in advance man! I Love your work and ruckage's

@edwardthehuman Its not there... or I'm just blind?

How do I update my Theme list? such as, how do I find more themes within retopie?
There are about 80 themes listed in the wiki but there are only 70 in esThemes.

There should be a
Update RetroPie-Setup script
option in the main menu. -
@jdrassa There you go! Thanks mate.

There are a couple of short splash videos included in the theme directory or you can download them directly from here:

@ruckage I'm pleased to report that the SNES Mini theme is working just fine in v2.8.0.0 of EmulationStation for Windows from @jdrassa with no visual bugs (there were some quirks last version).
I've used your theme so much between my own personal projects and builds for friends and family that I felt I should send you a donation, which I did.
I hope somewhere in the future, the next time you're adding new graphics, that you might add icons for some later systems that work on Windows/Linux but not RPi such as Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, GC, Wii and Wii U. (I would attempt to make my own graphics but I feel I would not match your style exactly).

Thanks very much for the donation, I really appreciate it. I will consider adding some more modern systems but I really have to get the rest of the rpi supported systems finished first. Dreamcast is actually already included though.

@ruckage Just donated too, enjoy a beer or two on me! I hope you can come back to this project soon. Your themes are awesome. I use your snes theme on one pi and your nes theme on the other. If/when you ever come back to these projects it would be great if you could add Apple II and TurboCD (using PCE CD currently but like the US version better) and add the option of the out of focus game screen pics as a background option for the nes mini theme. Even if you dont I look forward to what ever you come out with next. Thanks for all your hard work!

Thanks, I haven't received your donation as yet but thanks regardless (did you use the donation link in my signature? ) Glad you're enjoying the themes - and I will be coming back to them so there will be more updates in the future.

Good to see you around here @ruckage.
I have since made the move from RPi to PC myself. Still using the RPi for casual play and enjoying the chance to try out more modern systems on the PC.
I use the NES Mini theme myself but would be willing to contribute to a bounty for work on some of the more modern systems that we have access to on PC when you have some time.
Hope all has been well! :)

@ruckage Yes I used the link in your signature. If it doesnt come through let me know. I will check to see if I got a confirmation through paypal. If it doesnt go through I will try again. Thanks!

Okay, just thought I'd check in case you'd used the link at the bottom of the page (that would donate to the Retropie project itself which would be fine as it's a more than worthy cause).
It may be worth just checking your paypal confirmation as payments are normally instant with paypal so it's a bit unusual.

Good to hear from you, I'm fine thanks - I've been lurking but just haven't posted much as I've been busy with other things. I want to get some work done on the themes soon though and I need to get them ported to recalbox as I promised I would.
I originally only intended to stick to the the pi supported systems but I certainly could add some of the more modern systems as there does seem to be increasing interest in those. (I'm guessing PS2, PS3, Wii, Gamecube, Saturn, Jaguar - any others?)
I'm also considering adding NES/Famicom theme support to the Snes theme as due to the customisable nature it shouldn't be too problematic.

So you're combining the themes?
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
