So it's just Tintin and Jaguar XJ220 that need a manual fix (that we know of) ?
I believe also North and South needs it.
Not true, the slave author fixed it, so as long as you use version 2.0+ the issue is resolved.
http://whdload.de/games/NorthAndSouth.html
version 2.0 (28.01.2019) done by JOTD:
- Game now uses "data" directory so it's consistent with install script (issue #0003880)
I updated the slave for Jaguar XJ220 also, and have submitted that to WHDLoad, so maybe that will be resolved soon also.

I have two gamepads 8bido SN 30 Pro 2. I paired and mapped in emulationstation. Everything went fine and are detected including after reboot. In the emulation station interface everything works, each button, each thing of rut gamepads. The proof is that I enter the systems and choose games all is smooth. However, in the games, for example amiga, the controllers or buttons are not detected. In amiberry, like same example, if you press F12 it will return to the settings menu. In this setup settings the gamepads work but when you return to resume the game not.
I tested the game pad in terminal with the command:
jstest /dev/input/js0
What could be the problem?

I've got Amiberry on the Retropie working with both Turrican and Lemmings using .lha files. Excellent work!
Only problem is that when I change the configuration and save it, although a config file is created for the game, this isn't automatcially loaded when I open the game next time.
I am clicking directly on the game in the Retropie menu if that makes a difference, not using the AMiberry entry.
Is it set up to autoload the config file?
Thank you.
-
I solved using this configuration inside :
/opt/retroarena/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig
Replaced my file with this file called “Pro Controller.cfg”:
And worked perfectly everything. Appears emulationstation maps some part of the 8bitdo controller but with that one is running wonderful.
Thank you so much anyway.

@herts101 Just to update, I found a thread elsewhere which suggested I move the config path to my Amiga roms folder.
Duly done this, but still don't get the Lemmings specific configuration loaded automatically when I launch that game.
Has anyone else got this working effectively?

Hi all,
So what is the manual fix to get TinTin working?Dwarfboysim

Hi
I previously posted this in "Help and support" and have read a majority of the posts in this thread not finding an answer, so I give it a try in this thread instead...
Have struggled with this one for a long time. I have Amiberry 2.25, using WHD load and kickstart roms with the right md5 in the BIOS folder (in this case kick31.rom). Debug file on all AGA titles (.lha) shows "This installed program requires the AGA Chip Set."
Edit: I haven't done any configuration per game since I thought that WHDload does that.
Anyone have a clue how to move on with this one?
Some titles I really want to play... :)
Thanks!
Edit 2: So I've read some more and the symlinks is there and pointing to the correct kick rom. When launching certain games, I get a message that "This version is for the Amiga 1200 not the Amiga 500/600". So it seems AGA games are somehow still launching on 1.3 but I don't know how to move on.
I would be extremely happy if someone would try to help out here.

have you updated the XML file, and are you using supported LHA files that still contain the original names? e.g.
PinballPrelude_v1.2_AGA_2327.lha

Is the saved .uae file matched in name to the LHA file you are loading?
First, check that the auto-startup file has been crearted (in
configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Autoboots
and a .uae file of equivalent name exists in the folder shown in the 'paths' panel for Configurations (default will beconfigs/amiga/amiberry/conf
), then it should load that .uae file as part of the bootup. -
@HoraceAndSpider that worked - thank you - appreciate it.
One other question - is there any way of getting rid of the "+Start Amiberry" line at the top if the EmulationStation list of games, since I can go directly into the Amiga games without it?
Thanks
-
Given I have on occasion just wanted to indeed "Start Amiberry" without loading something in, I just renamed it to "ZZZZZ Start Amiberry" and my problem was solved. ;)

I cannot get Amiberry to remember my config settings.
I edited the configs for Slam Tilt with Line mode: Double and saved a uae file (that now contains "gfx_linemode=double" as intended), that got placed in my conf folder.
I copied this to my roms folder (since configuration files are set to roms/amiga), with no result. The Auto-startup file is in Autoboots folder. I tried copying the uae file to the Autoboots folder also, but I cannot get the game to start with these settings, always resets.
I also tried adding a LINE_DOUBLING=TRUE line to the hostprefs.conf file (since I generally want this setting in all games). This made no difference either.
What to do?

Sorry guys, I am finding it very hard to stay on top of multiple support locations, especially whilst i am very busy in RL!
To help this, I have opened the 'issues' page on the GitHub repository for the "Amiberry XML Builder"
So if you have any game where you think the XML needs something changed - either for compatibility or to improve the game play - whether that is a screen re-size, a CPU setting or a custom joypad setting, please post it on the issues page there and not on the issues page for Amiberry, or here, if you want me to pick it up easily.
There are a few rules i need in place to ensure that changes can be effectively implemented, but the details are here:
https://github.com/HoraceAndTheSpider/Amiberry-XML-Builder/wiki/The-Amiberry-XML-Builder
Thanks

@AndersHP @HoraceAndSpider Hi, I got question similar to AndersHP. I try to edit gfx settings, such as Line Double, but mostly gfx_width and height. I can change them in multiple configs and they stay changed but that does not seem to affect the display when i start the emulator and games.
The confusing thing is that there seem to be 4 possible configs:
/amiberry/conf/
-amiberry.conf
-rp-a500/1200.uae
/amiberry/whdboot/
-hostprefs.conf
/amiberry/whdboot/game-data/
specific game .whdPlus within hostprefs.conf there are different settings which seem to relate to the same thing like: "screen_width" and "gfx_width". And then there are some settings with "amiberry." in the beginning...
This is not really an "issue" with any game - just something I need personally to get my CRT RGB hat working properly. So I'm trying to understand how configs/settings work in Amiberry. I'd appreciate any help with this.

I have WHD (some data with folders in zip archive). I see It in EmulationStation menu and can start it, but the game says, there is not enough memory. How can I start Amiberry from EmulationStation with custom config or choose that WHD from Amiberry menu?

Everything I've tried so far has worked great, except Another World. I've tried AnotherWorld_v2.4_0425.lha and AnotherWorld_v2.4_Fr_2377.lha. In both cases I get a green screen straight after the code wheel screen. I'm using the Amiga Forever kickstarts.
BTW is there a way to search this thread for information, rather than the whole retropie forum?

@nemo93 I have added a section for Amiberry in the Docs: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Amiga/
I have placed Amiberry at the top of the list of emulators as it's probably the most straightforward to set up and use. Let me know what you think.
@dudleydes hey apologize I never replied. Thanks for the doc it's perfect now. Hence I've edited my post above to reflect that. Cheers!

Hi all,
Long time owner and love the Amiga. Amiberry with WHDLoad has been working great on my Pi till recently after updating. Now ALL games appear horizontal correct but vertically too far down cutting off the bottom 1/4 of the Amiga screen. Is there an over arching config to correct the vertical position and save it for all ?Thanks,

@moreginger Same issue. Anyone here knows how to play Another World?

Hi Guys,
@moreginger @Chuck_B the game does work fine here at least without using the Amiga Forever kicks. I've been playing it for a while with the latest Amiberry 3.0.11 on a Pi3B+ without any issue - the lha version is the same as yours
AnotherWorld_v2.4_Fr_2377
. What are your other system/hardware specs?@Dwarfboysim since the release of Amiberry 3.0.3 new parameters to control screen centering have been introduced. You could find them in the Amiberry GUI under the display setting. Then look after the Horizontal/Vertical centering boxes to the right side (next to screen height/width). The automatic centering was in place before 3.0.3 yet it has multiple side effects with other games (Banshee, Body Blows, etc) so it has been disabled by default. Perhaps you could use the
whdboot/hostprefs.conf
in order to set global options as described in Amiberry's wiki (scroll to the bottom) but I'm no expert on that matter. An alternative way of enabling centering is to add the following lines to the Display / Screen Setup section in an already existing .uae config file:; ; *** Display / Screen Setup ; [...] gfx_center_horizontal=smart gfx_center_vertical=smart
For the record let me share here the config file I've been using for that game. Copy/paste everything in a file that you'll name after
AnotherWorld_v2.4_Fr_2377.uae
(or whatever name your lha does have) and store it under theconf
directory of Amiberry (eg./opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/conf
).
