Emulationstation not autoplaying background music anymore?
-
Hi all, I am so sorry if this has been answered or if I'm approaching this issue the wrong way. I recently had my system setup where ES automatically launches after my retropi splash screen. Once the ES splashscreen popped up, it would start enabling the menu music (.ogg files) I have downloaded and placed. Stupidly, I was messing around with the Retropi option in emulationstation and I clicked on the splashscreen option under rpsetup and it screwed two big things up. Not when ES loads, I have to manually go to options and enable background music when before I entered rpsetup it did it automatically. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? I'm using orangepi if that helps.
A secondary problem I unknowingly created as well is now when retropi loads my custom splashscreen, it turns to a black screen before my custom music can finish playing when before the screen would wait until the song finished before it turned black and loaded ES. Any help here would be appreciated as well.

@jd_slasha What version of Retropie are you using and how did you install it ?

Retrorangepi 3.0 and emulationstation 2.0.3. I was one of the many people who were conned into buying a premade system from indiegogo :(

that figures, since the stock (RetroPie) ES does not have background music, so it must have been something that the RetrorangePI team added. Unfortunately not much we can do about it, since it's a heavily modified setup from the RetroPie current version.

One of the creators of retrorangepi was able to solve the issue for me via Facebook:
"from terminal:
wget http://www.retrorangepi.org/asplashscreen
sudo cp -v asplashscreen /etc/init.d/If you want to change the boot screen and tune or enable splash video, edit the file:
sudo nano /etc/init.d/asplashscreen (in plain terminal) OR
sudo pluma /etc/init.d/asplashscreen (in Desktop mode terminal)comment/uncomment lines in do_start function (remove or add #)"
Worked like a charm. Hopefully this might help anyone who runs into the same issue.
