[multi-question]how should i install 4.2, what happened to my save on N64, why is saving so slow it used to be fast
-
hello I am wondering how should i install 4.2 and keep my settings like where my roms are stored and my bios and the packages i have installed.
I have been playing harvest moon 64 on the pi and sometimes using save states, there is something odd tho, I cant find my save anymore i play it for a month no problems now there is no save in my diary, i save everything to my USB but i dont think i have the saves there, now i lost my sd card, and found it recently but there is no save on my usb and the sd card doesn't have one, i could have sworn the i used save states but when i found my SD card, used it and with the current setting glide2rice i think, there was no save stating
what made save stating slower like before my build of 4.1.6 saving used to be really fast like my psx games would save instantly, now it takes five seconds, if i need to save quickly i cant do it

you mean the percentage indicator when you do a save state? i believe it's still the same speed, but now retroarch tells you the true progress of writing to disk, rather than saying 'state saved!' immediately, like it did before.

@dankcushions ahh ok do you have an idea what could have to my save or the best way to update to 4.2?

@thedigi321 you should be able to safely update and keep all your settings, but it depends what they are and how you did it. as always take a backup first :) https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/

I know this is late, but what are your settings to get HM64 to run?? I cannot for the life of me get it to even start.
