Mame4all Controller not working.
-
Apologies if this is a bonehead question, i've searched the forum and cannot find a solution.
I'm running retropie 4.3 on a rpi3 model b and a usb controller through a zero delay usb encoder. The controls work perfectly on all emulators except mame4all, im getting no response from anything and have to power down the pi to get out. i dont have a keyboard connected atm but its a moments work.
i obviously have a config file issue, but im afraid that i've completely run out of skill. -
@andrewlee32 said in Mame4all Controller not working.:
mame4all
mame4all is not a retroarch emulator and therefore will need to be configured by pressing TAB to bring up the menu as described in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/#mame4all-pi
If you have done this and it still does not work, you will need to post this information as requested when you signed up.

Yeah, you're gonna need that keyboard. Also can I just ask why you are using MAME4ALL? You are using a Pi3, you should be running
lr-mame2003
/advancemame
/lr-fbalpha
. Better performance and compatibility. -
@jonnykesh simply put mate, i'm just starting out, and don't know any better! thats a very useful piece of information and ill go off and find out how to add fbalpha and advance mame. Hopefully that should help out a lot.
thanks for you help

@andrewlee32 Listen, MAME has made better men than you weep for their mothers! Your best bet for a good grounding is getting ROMs from the MAME 0.78 reference set, maybe you could google that... Put them in the
Arcade
folder and choose lr-mame2003 as the default. That is my VERY quick start guide to MAME.
