GBC and GB Mirrors In Both ES System Menus
-
Here again with another question.
I have my gb and gbc retroarch files configured so that gb displays 'custom' color like a gameboy original and gbc selected files display 'internal' colors with different overlays for each handheld. I'm trying to marry the gamelists so that I can access gbc files from the Game Boy ES list and vice versa without creating clones of each. TLDR: I'd like to open .gbc and .gb from both ES menus.
Things I've tried so far:
-
.gbc .GBC have been added to the gb section of es_systems.cfg file and then I have attempted to add a <!-- This section is for .gbc files ---> in the gameslist.xml file of gb for example, but I get an error saying that the rom isn't in the gb folder.

Attempted creating symlinks from both the unix command line and windows command line, but have gotten errors on both (likely because the USB is a FAT32?).

Umm maybe there is no 3. I've had too many beers. Oh! I tried creating .sh files linking the runcommand line to open a gbc file, but never got it to open. Here was my best try:
!/bin/bash /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-gambatte/gambatte_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/gbc/retroarch.cfg /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/gbc/Pokemon - Crystal Version (UE) (V1.1) [C][!].gbc
Any ideas? (I swear I looked at the wiki and did a search, so I hope I didn't miss it.)

The current EmulationStation version is able to create Collections from arbitrary ROM selections - i.e. you could create a GameBoy collection and add all you .gbc/.gb roms there. Would this make it easier for you ? See the docs over at https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/EmulationStation.

@mitu Yeah, it doesn't really fit my setup, unfortunately. Not a bad idea if I run out of ideas, though. Appreciate it.
