Volume of Games - Saving
-
@morpie You can also alter volume in all the RetroArch emulators through the menu. Personally rather than going through each ROM and adjusting the volume I would just reach for the TV remote.
-
@sirhenrythe5th my only two emulators i use are lr-mame2003 and lr-fba... not quite sure how to access the menus for audio tho.
-
@morpie Use the RGUI while in a game (usually with Select+X) , then go into the
Setings
, thenAudio
and you can adjust the Volume options (Level and Mixer Level) . -
@mitu but will those settings in RGUI not be global for all games?
I use AdvanceMame which has got the good old TAB-Menue which is implented since 1996.
Never used lr-mame but thought this would be there too.
But it seemes it does not, so i would not know how to set volume for a specific rom/game 😔 -
@sirhenrythe5th The RetroArch settings that you change through the GUI are applied for the current ROM, they are not persisted unless you use the 'Save Core Overrides/Save Game Overrides', in which case they're applied for either all games using the same RA Core or just specifically for the ROM you run.
Advmame is not a RetroArch core, it's a standalone emulator and it has its own configuration mechanic, but I think it's possible to to the same - save per game settings. -
@mitu now i see clear! lr stands for libretto and AdvanceMame is not!!!
Thank you for enlighting me! #facepalm -
@sirhenrythe5th Acually lr stands for libretro ; glad you got it sorted out. Now if only @morpie could also see if this applies so we can answer the original question.

Is there a way to set the audio volume of the scraped videos only?
My videos have a very high volume compared to the game sound of any cores. -
I have found that arcade games using lr-mame2003 have vary wildly in their audio volume. Onw example, is Xevious which is much louder than other games and some games end up being much quieter. I know I can adjust the volume under settings / audio but that isn't persistent. I know about the hotkeys for volume up/down but again, I would have to raise adjust the volume every time I play Xevious for example.
Is there a way to adjust and save an individual game's volume? I checked the mame menu for Xevious and didn't see a volume option. I guess my other option is to figure out how to install a volume knob in my cabinet so I can just adjust on the fly but that's not much different than using the hotkeys other than a quicker way to dial in the volume. It sure would be nice to just be able to save a +/- db per game and be done with it though.
