      Hey everyone,
I have tried to uninstall Retropie so that I can use the SD card to load NOOBS. I have gone to the uninstall feature within the retropie system and every time I uninstall it shows back up in the SD card. I have also tried to format the SD card through Mac Disk Utility with no luck. It's like the RetroPie program will not allow me to make any changes to it. I've tried to delete the directives and files through the command line and still they show back up. I've been at this for 2 days now. Anyone have any suggestions beside buying a new SD card?
      Thanks,

@spaceman Have you tried to install NOOBS on the card directly - https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/noobs.md ?
Make sure you're SD card is not write protected.

@spaceman Your card is write-protected or gone bad and has reverted to read-only.

Thanks @mitu and @jonnykesh! I can still add roms to the SD card. but still no luck installing NOOBS directly. Inserting the SD card into my Mac and looking at the "Get info", it says I have access in the permission tab. Not sure what other methods to check for "write protected". I guess I will have to buy a new one for NOOBS and keep this one my Retropie card.

@spaceman Your macOS cannot read the Linux partition, where the ROMs are, it's reading just the separate boot partition. Follow the instructions on the Raspberry PI site to install NOOBS, there is no need to get a separate card.
Why do you want to install NOOBS anyway ?

@mitu @spaceman Yeah, it just gets in the way. If you want Raspbian, write that image. NOOBS is a waste of space and a PITA.
