@KN4THX said in Removing Retropie From Debian: As a side note, if I am testing a nightly Retropie build, will an update pull from the fkms branch or does the nightly build have to be freshly installed each time? I don't understand what 'nightly build' means in this context. Usually a git pull would update the repository to the latest version.

The uninstall should only removes packages and dependencies if you want it to. Do you want to remove all the system packages that RetroPie depends on? WARNING: this will remove packages like SDL even if they were installed before you installed RetroPie - it will also remove any package configurations - such as those in /etc/samba for Samba. If unsure choose No (selected by default). Did you choose yes to this?

@Dwarfboysim I believe you need to edit the hostprefs.conf file which you can find in /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot. The following links at the Amiberry wiki should offer further guidance: Host Specific Settings WHDLoad Booter FAQ

@mitu @spaceman Yeah, it just gets in the way. If you want Raspbian, write that image. NOOBS is a waste of space and a PITA.

Eh, what exactly do you mean by 'getting stuck in Kidmode'? Do you mean you cannot unlock the UI mode back to full? Or that you want to revert to stock ES?

In the WiFi menu it did not show a network, I tried setting it up and no SSID's were appearing. I reset my router, rebooted the Pi, reconfigured WiFi and tried installing Kodi again. Many errors popped up and after 15 minutes said failed to install. All my other WiFi devices in the house are working fine. I'm not sure what to do.

ok, after 2 days, I finally solved the problem..by default steam stores, the file /lib/udev/rules.d/99-steam-controller-perms.rules for some reason the retropie script also installs /ect/udev/rules.d/99-steam-controller-perms.rules the file in /ect contained the instructions for xbox and keyboard which was overridding the /lib rules. I removed the ect file which should not be there and everything is now working. (I actually removed both files and reinstalled steam-devices)
