RetroPie 4.3, Rasp Pi 2, buffalo SNES controller

I did a search on the forum for hotkeys and found a lot of different stuff.

Originally, I was a little confused by Emulation Station's controller config when I first booted up and the bottom option was hotkey, singular.

I believe I have the hotkey set to the Select button because Select/Start works for exiting games, Select/R1 saves a savestate and Select/L1 loads a savestate.

My question is, are there other actions by default for the hotkey?

Im wondering if theres a way to toggle savestates when saving and loading, as right now, it saves and loads only State0. Would like to use multiple save states per game, but didnt really see any oosts on that.

      Thanks everyone

@mtascavage Select + Right/Left will move the save slot up or down - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#hotkeys. Any load/save combination after the save slot moves will use that slot, until you exit the game or change the save slot again.

@mitu Ok so if Im understanding you correctly, if I want to toggle to state1, I first hit Select/Right to set the state to 1, then save like normal by Select/R1, correct?

And then it stays on state1 until I move it again?

@mtascavage Yes, that's all there is.
