N64 roms will not work...
-
@mitu - I'm using raspberry pi 3. What else do you need?
-
@colking How about the information that you agreed to provide before signing up? https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first as requested above?
-
@colking The page I pointed out has some pointers for useful info - what emulator are you using, what's your power source, any details in the logs, how did you install the system, RetroPie version, etc.
You need to provide more info on your system and setup, because what you're experiencing is something specific to your system and it will help us find the source of the problem. -
@mitu it's an image (128gb) attract. I have the real power supply for the pi 3. Version of retropie is 4.3.8. I believe that's the newest one.

In this case, please install the image from retropie.org.uk/download first and try again.
-
@mitu I've tried all of the n64 emulators that are available to install on retropie. 5 or 6 of them.
-
@colking Third party images are not supported on the forum. No one here has any idea how these are configured. You should ask "Rey", I assume it's his you are using.

The answer is then simple, you do not have N64 roms.
-
@jonnykesh yes... thank you.
-
@mitu I keep trying to download the image from that link and it keeps failing...
-
@rbaker I do have several roms. Been trying super Mario 64 and only the volume works. It allows me to play but it's a black screen...
-
@colking Can't help you there, download works for me, so it's not the site or the file. How are you downloading the file ? Browser, any download program ?
-
@colking Just downloaded it as a test. No problems and downloaded in about a minute or so. Try a different browser.
-
@mitu I'll try another browser when I get home tonight. Thanks
-
@jonnykesh I still can't download from the retropie site... I've downloaded several ipmages elsewhere though. I just can't seem to download from this site... wtf?!?! Keep failing after about 60mb. yet I've downloaded a 128gb, 64gb and 16gb image files from other sites... tried every browser and still nothing...

If your Retropie SD card has enough free space for the image and your Pi has internet access, you could try to download the image from Retropie's command console and copy it to your PC from there. To do that, exit Emulation Station and enter the following command:
wget https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/releases/download/4.3/retropie-4.3-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz
That should download the image to the home directory of Retropie's standard user

. The docs tell you how to transfer files via network or an usb stick from the Pi to your PC for further installation. -
@bobharris tried that link. says the file was deleted. :(
-
@colking There is an active link if you scroll down in that topic.

Not certain if this what the others where trying to convey earlier. I also couldn't get the N64 roms to work. I had transferred the files to the Pie 3 and I tried and unzipped all roms in the Pi folder on SD card instead of unzipping them on my PC. is that what everyone else is doing? I haven't tried to change the code to see what it does. Sorry if this unneeded statement as I am new at this with Pi's
