Pi Model or other hardware: 3, Model B
      Power Supply used: Cana 5 V, 2.5 A
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.3
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc.. - please provide the filename of any image used) retropie-4.3-rpi2_rpi3.img
USB Devices connected: Buffalo USB keypad, wireless keyboard/mouse
      Controller used:
Error messages received: Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2)
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): N/A
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide) https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
      How to replicate the problem:

I am unable to install RetroPie 4.3 on my Raspberry Pi 3. The error message appears to be a common one, but I can't find a good solution. I should also note that I am able to install a NOOBS image without any problem. When I did this I tried the manual installation at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/ but it failed at the installation step (sudo ./retropie_setup.sh). It was related to the lack of support for stretch.

@winteriscoming said in Installation error - kernel panic:

It was related to the lack of support for stretch.

As you say, Stretch is not supported at the moment and there's currently no ETA.

@winteriscoming Looks like a mismatched partition - re-format the SD card so there's nothing on it and re-write the image.
